The Prestigious President’s Volunteer Service Award Presented to the Long Island Works Coalition
This highly successful effort was recently recognized by Joan Imhof, President/Founder, Long Island Volunteer Center, an affiliate of HandsOn Network and Diana O'Neill, Executive Director, who presented the President’s Volunteer Service Award to Long Island Works representatives, Cheryl Davidson, Executive Director, and Christiane Leonardis, Manager of Business Development, for their efforts in helping create a student internship initiative for nonprofit organizations.  This highly regarded volunteering award is sponsored by the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation which honors Americans who, by their demonstrated commitment and example, inspire others to engage in volunteer service. This award is the most prestigious volunteer award currently connected to the White House that all Americans can aspire to achieve.“  We are delighted to help the non-profit community, which helps so many others.  It is an honor to receive this award, especially coming from the LI Volunteer Center, which leads by example.” said Cheryl Davidson.
