This highly successful effort was recently recognized by Joan Imhof, President/Founder, Long Island Volunteer Center, an affiliate of HandsOn Network and Diana O'Neill, Executive Director, who presented the President’s Volunteer Service Award to Long Island Works representatives, Cheryl Davidson, Executive Director, and Christiane Leonardis, Manager of Business Development, for their efforts in helping create a student internship initiative for nonprofit organizations.  This highly regarded volunteering award is sponsored by the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation which honors Americans who, by their demonstrated commitment and example, inspire others to engage in volunteer service.
