Represented healthcare professions will include: emergency medical technician, healthcare administrator, medical technician, nutritionist, pharmacist, physical therapist, physician’s assistant, plastic surgeon, registered nurse, respiratory therapist, x-ray technician, and a variety of others.  The students who will attend the event - from Greenport, Mattituck, Riverhead, Southold, West Hampton and William Floyd school districts - have been specially identified by school career counselors as students with a particular interest in the healthcare sector.  

“Skilled healthcare professionals are difficult to find everywhere in the country – but specifically, Peconic Landing, and other healthcare providers on the East End of Long Island, are feeling this shortage firsthand,” said Robert J. Syron, CEO and Executive Director, Peconic Landing. “Our first-ever Healthcare Career Day will allow future healthcare professionals to see and understand the wide variety of healthcare careers that are available to them right here on the East End.”

“Working with our local schools and their outstanding career counselors, as well as with Long Island Works Coalition, has been a great way to reach the young people in our community who are interested in pursuing careers in the healthcare industry," added Peter Loew, Director of HR at Peconic Landing.

Peconic Landing’s Healthcare Career Day will take place on Wednesday, March 26 in the Peconic Landing auditorium from 9 - 11 a.m.  This event is open to registered students only.
