More than half-way through my internship this summer, I am presently working to create a relationship with the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce that will be the foundation for a co-promotional project between Riverhead businesses and Tanger Mall.  So far, this has involved brainstorming the nature of the project that we wish to complete, finding a contact at the Chamber, making initial contact with him, and writing him a proposal requesting a meeting.  My work previous to this project has included - among other things - attending the HIA tradeshow to make contacts and find leads (at the tradeshow I qualified a lead that will soon become a client), creating a marketing piece for a seminar hosted by Bruce Poli, and creating a plan for approaching the banking market.

LI Works and its internship fair provided me access to businesses that I would not have contacted via my college's networks, and to experiences that I would not have had if my focus had been limited to internships in the City.
